Update for November 12: work on the building

Thursday, November 12.

The floor is finished and a protective covering applied throughout. The drywall barrier separating the plenum space from the attic is up and sealed in the lobby and classroom wing. Interior framing is underway and should be completed by the end of the week.

After the framing is in place, the carpenters can return to complete the exterior.

The plumbing, electrical and the heating and ventilating sub contractors are on site and proceeding with rough in.

Your building committee is working with the architects to make final decisions on finishes and colors.

Update on work outside the building

Thursday, November 12.

It has been an active week on the job site.

The septic system is now approved and final grading is underway. Loam and seed will be finished within a few days. The water line is tied in at Elm Street and runs back to the building. A sewer line is also under the driveway, awaiting the Town Center septic system. Conduit is also in place under the drive to provide power to the bollards that will provide a modest amount of light along the drive. The driveway is to sub-grade and compacted. Pads have been poured for the dumpster and the re-located shed. The remaining sidewalks should be poured next week.

Update for November 5

Thanks to Rick High for this update as of Thursday Nov. 5:

Work is progressing on many fronts.
The site contractor has tied into the water line in Elm Street and is
working his way back toward the new building. He has encountered what
appears to be 30 feet or so of ledge, which will be drilled and fractured so
it can be removed.
The septic system is now competed and awaiting final sign-offs from the
inspectors.
All windows are now installed in the building and by tomorrow all roofing
will be complete. Exterior trim work is proceeding with soffits being
installed. The "fins" and light shelves are following. Siding is scheduled
to start next week.
Inside the flooring contractor is completing the work of grinding and
finishing the concrete into the final floor. This will then be covered with
a protective layer to avoid any damage while work proceeds inside. Interior
framing will begin next week.
The electricians have brought temporary electric power to the building.
Electrical work, plumbing and the heating and ventilation system will follow
the interior partitioning.
