Here’s an update on National Grid from Rick High:
Yesterday (Friday, February 19, 2010), at the meeting postponed from Tuesday due to the storm, the Board of Selectmen approved a license agreement with National Grid giving them the right to put another guy wire on pole 5 and to cross over land owned by the Town on the way to pole 4-1 which is situated on our driveway. I hand delivered the paperwork to National Grid’s offices yesterday afternoon.
Thank your local town officials for their quick action on this matter.
National Grid has scheduled the field “pre-check” for the upcoming week and tentatively plans to do bring permanent power to the building the first week of March.
Tomorrow I will speak with the cable and telephone companies and see if I can get firm dates from them for the second week of March.
I will post another update as soon as I have spoken with Charter and Verizon.

Building is essentially finished - still awaiting utilities
From Rick High:
We have a few odds and ends of things to work on, but the building is essentially complete and awaiting the arrival of utilities. We are working daily with National Grid to get service just as soon as possible. The delivery of power will allow the start up of the building’s heating and ventilating system.
We are about 85% complete on site work, and most of the rest of the site work will need to wait until the spring thaw.
We are working on fitting up the kitchen. The vent hood was installed last week. Counters, plumbing fixtures, and appliances should arrive next week,
Other remaining items are “punch list” items”: paint touch up, a broken pane of glass or two that need to be replaced, etc.
